It's what happens when your knees go weak, your palms turn to sweat, your stomach starts to summersault and you begin to trip on your big lower lip.
Such a lovely picture, huh?
No, not exactly. This thing called love just might compare to watching those marvelous fireworks, celebrated on the 4th of July. It might compare to two people holding hands, looking up in awe of all of the beauty and the color in a far off sky. Love might be the comfort of sharing your life with a longtime partner. It's the newness of a spring rain. Just as the buds begin to break clear of the once parched earth. Love is this and so much more, rolled all into one.
Why is it that the world over, we are all so hung up on that one word: Love? For some, being in love is a scarey, even fearful thing. Being in love can mean all of our emotions impacting all at once and this would bring about a powerful chain of events.
First, the thoughts and emotions kick in as the brain registers it's response to how we feel. Next, the body starts to react very strongly. All of a sudden we can begin to tremmble and stammer and experience a difference in our body temperature -- and all for what? Feel romantic love and this chain of events will happen every time. Being in love is nothing to be taken lightly!
Love can be any number of different things to different people. Love for you can mean enjoying spending time with someone special. It can be warm and comforting. It can also be electric and exciting. It can be adventuresome and risky or it can be cuddly and romantic. What type of loving experience suits you best? We all love differently and, so, we all show our love differently, of course.
We can have good emotional responses from any number of loving scenarios. It all depends on our truest nature or character. What turns one on won't necessarily turn on another. That is why we all agree with, "Different strokes for different folks." This is true, indeed.
Many people want to know if what they feel can be described as true love. Well, that depends entirely on the person. If you have feelings that are strong and exclusive, then, chances are you might just be in love.
When dating, you can experience different degrees of love. For some, just feeling close and appreciated can seem like love. To another, a good romp in the hay has love written all over it.
Any way that you want to look at it, spending time with one you care about, doing what you enjoy the most -- this is a good formula, call it love or any other name.
We should not nearly be so hung up on calling an enjoyable emotion by a particular name. We are doing ourself a big favor by just going out there and participating. The pay off is the way we feel and not the name we decide to put to the feeling. Love is what it is -- Love is love and once "In Love" we will know it!
